This 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS is one of approximately 91 US-market spyders built with “chairs and flares” and was delivered on October 16, 1974.
The “chairs and flares” treatment combined the option of Daytona-style seat inserts with the selection of wider Campagnolo wheels, which necessitated flared fenders. This example was ordered new with both options according to the original bill of sale.
Campagnolo alloy wheels measure 14×7.5” and were an inch wider than the standard Dino’s Cromodora wheels. Michelin XWX tires measuring 205/70VR14 are mounted at each corner as well as on a matching spare secured in the front compartment
The Daytona-style seats are trimmed in black leather including the door panels and rear bulkhead. Additional features include black mousehair dash trim, black carpeting, a gated shifter, power windows, air conditioning, and an upgraded retro style radio.
The MOMO steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges monitoring oil temperature, coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 31k miles.
